Roswell’s Faves – Summer 2021

Roswell’s Faves – Summer 2021

In addition to purchases and research on our own, we’re lucky enough to be able to try lots of dog products through our social media channels. That way, we can sort through and recommend our favorites! We only ever share products that we’ve researched and like what we see, we’ve tried out multiple times, and products that are Roswell-approved. Whether our recommendations are sponsored or not, we stand by all of them.

In this post, I wanted to compile a list of our current favorites that we find ourselves using almost every day, and nothing here is sponsored. Many of these products we’re asked about on a daily basis through comments and DMs, so I hope this post helps some of you who may have had questions!

Car Seat

I will not drive anywhere with Roswell without using our PetSafe Car Seat. Before I had this, I was stupid enough to drive with Roswell in a normal dog bed in my passenger seat (DO NOT DO THIS!). We had a scary incident where I had to stop short after being cut off, and Roswell fell on the floor in front of him. He ended up being completely fine, just scared, but anything could’ve happened as he was sitting in a very unsafe position. This was traumatizing for me, and I knew I couldn’t ride with him like that anymore. I was so happy to find this car seat by a brand that I knew and trusted. We’ve now been using it for years and I am so happy with the product. Both Roswell and I feel so safe with this car seat, and it makes car rides so much easier.

Bowl Boosters

If you follow us closely, you’ll know that we love adding food toppers and supplements to Roswell’s dinners. They help when Roswell isn’t “in the mood” to eat (stubborn dachshund owners might understand), and when the ingredients are good, I’m happy to give him a little extra for his health. Roswell’s absolute favorite topper lately is Wellness – Core Bowl Boosters. We found them earlier this year via Instagram as they are local to the Boston area, and have since tried out all of their flavors. Roswell is obsessed. We still add other supplements to his food and use various other brands that we love, but Roswell tends to give us a second look if his Bowl Boosters aren’t present.

Tiny Tennis Balls

Ok – this one may be very obvious to most people who own small dogs, but for some reason it took us three years to buy Roswell a small tennis ball. He didn’t actually like playing with tennis balls for the first couple of years, but then fell in love. I’d guess his only complaint would’ve been their size. Sometimes they’d get stuck in his mouth, and he’d have to open so wide to grab them. Then we discovered smaller tennis balls, and his obsession is now tenfold. So this one may not be a personal favorite because he’s so obsessed, but definitely a Roswell favorite.

Scrunchy Bandanas

We’ve tried out a LOT of bandanas over the years – Roswell has two whole drawers in his bedroom (yes – he has his own bedroom if you missed that, lol) full of bandanas. Before discovering scrunchy bandanas my favorite type of bandanas were ones that buttoned on, but those can be a pain when Roswell’s fur gets in the way. Doggy Paddle Designs was recently introduced to us along with the scrunchy bandana. They are SO easy to get on and off which makes Roswell not mind putting them on! They also make bow ties that easily hook onto any collar – way easier than our other bow ties that you have to slide on and off. Fashion + functionality = a happy Roswell.

Such cute patterns too!

GPS Collar

We’ve had our Fi Collar for a while now, and I’ve been obsessed since day one. This collar is great for people who want to know where their dog is at all times or if they tend to run away, and for anyone else who cares about their dog’s health. The collar tracks all of Roswell’s steps, shows us the miles he’s walked, a GPS picture of his walks, and updates us on how he’s tracking on his health goals. Even though we used to walk and/or exercise Roswell daily, we do sooo much more now that we can see how he’s tracking. It’s almost like a competition against ourselves, seeing how many steps we can get in. This has Roswell so much happier and healthier, and he actually loves walking now that we do it so often. You can always use code Roswell25 to save $25 on a collar!

Healthy Treats

Roswell’s been lucky enough to try out a lot of yummy and sustainable treats lately. Sustainably sourced healthy treats and food seems to be more and more available lately, and we love being able to support some of these companies. Our current favorites include Open Farm cod treats, Snif-Snax salmon bites, Chippin carp food, and Fera Pet fish oil. Roswell is one spoiled pup.
